I have uploaded next week's calendar to the website. Next week will be a short week so there will be no spelling test. The library will be open both days. Remind your child to bring back their library books if they want new ones for the holiday weekend.
Please remind your child to bring a jacket/coat to school each day. We have been spoiled with the above average temperatures. Today was pretty chilly at recess!!! Have a great weekend!! Today at an assembly, students got to "slime" different staff members. These students sold at least 15 items in the recent PTC fundraiser which raised over $20,000. The kids really enjoyed this. The pictures above are from the assembly, Jeplin was one of the students who got to participate. The picture is a little fuzzy since I was "zooming in" from a distance.
Thank you to all who have sent in shoes for the McWilliams family. They are still collecting and are getting close to their goal. You can still send in shoes through next Friday, November 18. Thank you also to those who have sent in canned goods. The first part of the contest ends next Wednesday, November 16. The winner of this portion gets to help with the Mayor's Christmas Tree lighting downtown on Saturday, November 19. The winner for the second half of the contest will receive a pizza party with the Mayor. Have a great weekend!!! Today we voted for our favorite food. Our choices were pizza, donuts, or oranges. In our classroom, pizza and donuts tied for the win. We will add our votes with the rest of first grade tomorrow to see what is the winning food for our grade level. We got an "I voted" sticker to wear.
I have uploaded the calendar for next week to the website. Don't forget that your child does not have school next Friday.
A special thanks to Officer W for coming to read to us this week. We really appreciate it! Next Monday, the Lions Club will be doing a vision screening for us using a state-of-the-art Welch Allyn Spot Screener. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Hebert. Next Thursday, there will be a schoolwide assembly for the students who sold the most items for the PTC fundraiser to slime a teacher at each grade level. I am sure the kids will love this. I hope you all have a great weekend!! |
