I have uploaded the calendar for next week to the website. We have some fun things going on next week. There will be no spelling test next week. :)
Above are some pictures from Thursday. Mr. Tollefson and his wife came back to TES and gave each first grader a brand new book to read and keep. The kids were thrilled with the new books. We spent the rest of the day reading and sharing our books. What a generous gift from the Tollefsons!! We found out today that we WON the pizza party!!! I took a video of the kids' reaction when the announcement was made, but it is too big to put on the website - or at least everything I have tried hasn't worked. :P There was lots of hugs and jumping around!! We will probably have to schedule it for January. THANK YOU to all who contributed to our can collection!! TES brought in over 5000 cans!! That is AWESOME!!! Just a reminder to send in your child's gift bag and the items to share with classmates! I would love to have everything here by Wednesday so the bags can be assembled. Thank you in advance for your assistance. We are planning to have a Pajama Day on Thursday. We only need 7 more class tickets. I am sure we can make it!! The kids are working really hard to earn them! :) I hope you all have a great weekend!! I have uploaded the calendar for next week to the website. I can't believe it is already December!!!
Next Wednesday, December 6 is the last day to bring in the canned goods for the Mayor's Christmas Challenge. You have done a terrific job of helping those in need in the community!! We have 250 cans from our class!!!!! Today your child brought home a red note about one of our Christmas activities. We are encouraging the students to bring in a small item (candy canes, stickers, pencils, erasers, etc.) for each student in the class (We have 17 students). They also need to bring in a medium sized gift bag (8" x 11"). We will share the items with the class and each child will have a goody bag full of small gifts from the class. They LOVE this!! Next week should be a "normal" week!! :) We will be working hard in reading groups and taking a math test. I did not send home any homework today. I told the kids to get outside and enjoy the nice weather before it turns cold next week. We will get back to work on Monday. I hope you all have a great weekend!! |
